About Us

FC Aztec is Rothwell and Desborough’s largest football community group which provides grassroots football to children and adults of the local community and surrounding area. As an FA Charter Standard Development Club this ensures we meet and exceed standards set out by the National Football Association.

All our volunteer coaches are required to complete the minimum Enhanced DBS, FA Safeguarding, FA Emergency Aid and FA Level 1 Coaching in Football certifications.

The club also supports coaches who wish to improve themselves for the benefit of the players through their Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications. We currently have small number of qualified Level 2 coaches at the club as well as several other progressing through their Level 2 qualifications.

The club home is based on the Montsaye Academy grounds on Greening Road, Rothwell. All the club’s teams training sessions take place on the Montsaye grounds utilising the 3G facility during the winter months and the grass during the lighter nights. Home match fixtures for all teams at the Under 11’s age group and above take place on our three pitches, all our girl’s teams at all age groups also take place at Montsaye. Match fixtures for our Under 7’s through to the Under 10’s age groups take place at North Park, Bath Road, Kettering, a central venue organised by the Weetabix League.

Our club Ethos and Philosophy was revisited in 2017 which details the clubs aims, this is largely focused on ensuring anyone taking part in club activities feel SAFE and have FUN, providing ENJOYMENT and DEVELOPMENT of many individual and team based skills, including but not limited to football skills. We hope to make a positive impact on our players instilling RESPECT and GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP as core values. We aim to create mixed ability teams and focus on long term player development rather than immediate results reflected in score lines. The club’s success is measured by PARTICIPATION and RETENTION. The full Ethos and Philosophy documentation can be found on the website to our members once logged in.

Subscription costs are kept as low as possible and remains the club’s largest income however this only covers 60% of our annual costs, our committee organise many fundraising events throughout the year to generate the remaining fund required for us to continue to operate. We also actively look for funding from other sources and sponsorship from businesses is also very important to the club.

Our goal at the club is to create a family friendly environment where everyone has a part to play, we support arranging other activities such as matchday experiences, summer tournaments and many other valuable experiences. FC Aztec is the children’s club run for them by the team of volunteers.
